Duran Junior High School is located at 309 Williamson Drive in the rapidly growing community of Pell City, Alabama. The school first opened its doors to enroll students for the 1967-1968 school year. DJHS is part of Pell City Schools, a system first formed in 1982 when it separated from St. Clair County Schools. The school houses eighth grade students. The mascot for the school, as well as for Pell City High School, is the black panther. The colors are black and gold.
